Indonesia: Energy Ministry to Reform Bureaucracy in Energy Sector
Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arcandra Tahar said that in
2017, the Ministry is determined to reform bureaucracy in the energy sector.
"We'll make the bureaucracy more simple. If possible, we'll be focused on
how to make use of the technology instead of dealing with administrative
matters only. We have to move on," Arcandra said in Jakarta on Saturday
(10/12).
Arcandra added that to simplify bureaucracy, an online system is needed and
through the system interaction among people can be reduced.
"We will also focus on commercial technology where technology aspect drives
commercial aspects," he said.
Arcandra went on to say that in 2017, the Ministry also aims to accelerate
the 35,000-megawatt electrification project and begin electrification
programs in 2,500 villages.
