Hyundai wins US$918m order for 2.2 GW CCGT power project in Malaysia

Malaysian independent power producer Edra Global Energy has awarded Hyundai
Engineering a US$918m order for the construction of a 2,242 MW CCGT power
project in Alor Gajah, southeast of Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia). The project,
which would be the largest CCGT power plant in the country, should be
completed within 40 months, i.e. by September 2020.

Hyundai is already building a 2,000 MW coal-fired power project in Jimah
(Port Dickson) for national power utility Tenaga Nasional Berhad. The
supercritical project, consisting of two 1,000 MW units, should be
commissioned in 2019.
