Indonesia: Best & Grow Signs Power Plant Project of 300 MW in North Sumatera
The cooperation agreement between China Energy Engineering Group of
Guangdong Electric Power Design Institute Co Ltd (GEDI) and Best and Grow
Indonesia for the construction of 300MW power plant in North Sumatra (North
Sumatra).
The signing of this strategic partnership is part of the global maritime
support program in Indonesia, which is part of the exposure of Indonesia
Global Maritime Fulcrum: A Proposal for Belt & Road Initiative initiated by
Indonesia and China.
The signing of the cooperation was represented by Ishak Charlie,
Commissioner of Best & Grow Investment Group, with GEDI Chen Lan Vice
President, witnessed by Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut
Binsar Pandjaitan and Investment Coordinating Board Chairman Thomas Lembong
at Conrad Hotel, Beijing, China.
Luhut said during this time China has helped Indonesia in alleviating
poverty.
"Hopefully today's meeting can have an impact for us in the future. We want
to see the cooperation of China (China) and Indonesia to become a new power
in the world economy, "he said, in a written statement received, Jakarta,
Saturday (17/06/2017).
This cooperation follows up on the MoU (memorandum of understanding) that
was made last month, between Indonesia and investors from China. This
cooperation contract is for the development of a 300MW power plant in Percut
Sei, North Sumatra, soon to be run.
The cooperation agreement covers two stages. First, Energy China GPEC is
conducting a feasibility study to ensure the most efficient fuel for the
plant. They must also determine the most efficient design.
Second, includes the closure of project finance. Where both parties will
guarantee project financing. Total investment for the second phase is
estimated at more than United States (US) $350 million (about IDR4.65
trillion).
