Laos: Nam Mo 2 Hydropower Plant to Be Built Soon
A US$217-million Nam Mo 2 Hydropower Plant Project will start construction
in Mok District, Xieng Khouang Province soon, with the investors having
signed a contract with the government on March 30.
The Nam Mo 2 hydropower plant has a total capacity generation of 120 MW
under the 27 years concession. The construction project will take three
years and six months.
The Nam Mo 2 hydropower plant is a joint venture between Phongsubthavy Road
And Bridge Construction Co., Ltd (holding 37%), Nam Mo Company of Vietnam
(holding 23%), Duangchaleun Group Company (holding 21%), Dong Tanh Trade
Company of Vietnam (holding 14%) and Sengchanh Construction Company (holding
5%).
The signatories were Mr Khamlien Pholsena, Deputy Minister of Planning and
Investment, and Mr Tran Huanthanh, Director General of the Nam Mo 2
Hydropower Plant Project. The signing was witnessed by the Director of
Business Energy Department, Ministry of Energy and Mining, Mr Sychat
Bouthsakithtilath, and the Director of Planning and Investment Division of
Xiengkhouang Province, Mr Maidy Khamphoukduangkeo.
