Indonesia: Pertamina Oil Production at 99 Percent
Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) has produced 63,000 barrels of oil per day (bpd)
as of March 2017. The volume is 99 percent of the targeted 64,000 bpd.
PHE President Director Gunung Sardjono Hadi said on Wednesday, April 12,
2017, that the excellent result is due to production increase at the
Offshore North West Java (ONWJ) Block.
According to Gunung, PHE's gas production as of the first quarter reached
723 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD). The volume equals to 94
percent of the targeted 769 MMSCFD.
The gas production increase is supported by a high output from the Jambi
Merang and West Madura Offshore (WMO) blocks.
The Pertamina subsidiary, Gunung said, also recorded excellent performances
in exploration. The drilling at Parang-1 exploration well in Nunukan has
entered the fifth phase. The well is expected to bring more oil discoveries.
Currently, Pertamina Hulu Energi operates in 53 blocks in Indonesia and
abroad.
