Indonesia: Pertamina Ready to Manage Mahakam without Total, Inpex Help

The SKK Migas stated that state-owned oil company Pertamina is ready to
manage the Mahakam Block in Kalimantan without the help of Total and Inpex.

France-based Total E&P Indonesie and Japan's Inpex Corp are Mahakam Block's
current operators, whose contracts will expire at the end of this year.
Both companies have not accepted the government's offer to have
participating interest of 30 percent, with the remainder of the stake going
to Pertamina as the bloc's next main operator.

"But even if Total (and Inpex) are not going to take the share, Pertamina is
ready," the Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business (SKK Migas)
director for Kalimantan and Sulawesi Nasvar Nazar said in Samarinda Tuesday,
June 13.

Nasvar said the takeover of Mahakam Block's management does not require a
large investment. Pertamina is ready to handle the routine production. He
believes that in less than two weeks after the takeover on January 1, 2018,
Pertamina will immediately get income.

Pertamina has completed most of the transition process. All Total and Inpex
employees will move to Pertamina as of the first day of next year.
