Vietnam: Preparing to start up the construction of Cogeneration plant in
Vung Tau city

According to the agreement between The Grand Ho Tram Strip (HTP) and
Petrovietnam Low Pressure Gas Distribution Joint Stock Company (PV GasD), a
Cogeneration plant developed in form of Build - Own - Operate (BOO) on an
area of 164 ha exploiting by HTP in Vung Tau city will be started for
construction by the end of 2017 and put into operation by the end of 2018.

The cogeneration plant combines power and cooling generation with a power
capacity of 7 MW and cooling capacity of 2000 ton.

Mr. Michael, The HTP Senior President informed: the cogeneration plant will
help HTP to utilize amount of heat generated during operation for cooling
water supplying air conditioner system and heating hot water for living
needs in HTP.

Besides, cogeneration plant will help HTP to significantly reduce dependence
on the national power grid and amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) emission due
to that the CO2 emission amount from natural gas fired power plant is less
by 50 - 60% in compared to conventional coal fired power plant.
