Chevron builds new vessel in Johor Bahru

THE management of Chevron Offshore (Thailand) recently attended the
construction commencement ceremony of floating, storage and offloading
vessel "Benchamas 2" at Malaysia Marine in Johor Bahru.

"Benchamas 2" is expected to commence operations in 2018 to support
Chevron's operations in the Gulf of Thailand.

The ceremony followed the signing of a contract last August by Chevron
Offshore and MISC Offshore Floating Terminals for "Benchamas 2". Once
completed, the new vessel will replace "Benchamas Explorer FSO" with the aim
of supporting safe, reliable, and continuous production from
Chevron-operated fields within block B8/32 and G4/43 in the Gulf of
Thailand.

Executives in attendance at the commence ceremony included Pairoj
Kaweeyanun, president of Chevron Offshore, Wan Mashitah Wan Abdullah Sani,
managing director and chief executive of Malaysia Marine and Heavy
Engineering Holdings Berhad, and Syed Hashim bin Syed Abdullah, vice
president of MISC's offshore business and director of Chevron Offshore.

"Benchamas 2" will feature the latest storage and offloading technologies,
safety systems and environmental safeguards.

The vessel will have a cargo capacity of over 117,000 cubic metres, or about
740,000 barrels of oil equivalent. Chevron Offshore said the commence
ceremony highlighted the ongoing commitment and trust between Chevron and
MISC, while demonstrating its commitment to safety and to reliably provide
energy to Thailand.
