Indonesia 2016 Palm Oil Exports Fall to 25.7m
Indonesia exported 25.7 million metric tons of palm oil in 2016, down from
26.2 million metric tons in the previous year, the head of the country's
estate crop fund said on Tuesday (10/01).
"The main factor behind the drop in exports is because our own production
has declined," said Bayu Krisnamurthi, president director of the Indonesia
Estate Crop Fund.
Indonesia is the world's largest producer of palm oil.
Consumption of subsidized unblended biodiesel surpassed a target of 2.5
million tonnes to hit 2.7 million tonnes in 2016, Bayu added.
