Indonesia: PLN urged to speed up rehabilitation of 30 MW Kamojang Unit 1
The Indonesian government urges PLN to speed up efforts to bring back the 30
MW Unit 1 of the Kamojang geothermal power plant complex in Garut, West
Java.
Following damage to its turbine, the 30 MW Unit 1 of the Kamojang geothermal
power plant of PLN in Garut, West Java has not been operating for more than
one year.
Now the Deputy Minister for Energy and Mineral Resources of Indonesia,
Arcandra Tahar has called upon PLN to resume operation of the unit as soon
as possible.
Unit 1 of the Kamojang geothermal power plant complex is one of five units
on site with a total capacity of 235 MW, but only 205 MW at the moment. PLN
should have moved quickly to repair the turbine. As a result, today PLTP
Kamojang's capacity has reduced to 205 MW. "PLN should have moved quickly to

Pertamina Geothermal Area Kamojang supplies steam to PLTP Kamojang Unit I,
which is managed by PT Indonesia Power, a unit of PLN. Indonesia Power
manages PLTP Kamojang Unit I, II and III. Pertamina Geothermal Energy
manages Unit IV and V.
