Bojonegara LNG terminal moves ahead in Indonesia

Bojonegara LNG terminal moves ahead in Indonesia

Bumi Sarana Migas, part of the Kalla Group, has announced that it was ready
to start building a Rp 10,000 bn (US$747m) LNG regasification terminal in
Bojonegara, Banten (Indonesia), as part of its strategy to avoid gas deficit
in western Java.

The Bojonegara onshore LNG terminal would have a regasification capacity of
5.1 bcm/year (3.8 Mt/year) and could be commissioned as early as 2019. It
could receive the largest LNG tankers - including Q-Flex and Q-Max - with a
maximum capacity of 266,000 m3. In 2015, Kalla signed an agreement with
Indonesian state-owned energy company Pertamina to jointly build the
project; Pertamina would also use the entire capacity of the regasification
project over a 20-year period.
