Indonesia: Tokyo Gas Keen to Invest in South Sulawesi

Japan-based Tokyo Gas is keen to invest in liquefied petroleum gas project
in Sulawesi.

The Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Ignasius Jonan said that he is
supportive of Tokyo Gas investment commitment.

"We heard that Tokyo Gas will invest in Indonesia, I also heard that Tokyo
Gas is keen to join the LNG project in Sulawesi," he said in a meeting with
the executive directors of Tokyo Gas in Japan on Monday.

Also attended the meeting was Indonesian Ambassador to Japan Arifin Tasrif,
Special Envoy to Japan Rahmat Gobel, the Energy Ministry electricity
director general Andy Noorsaman Sommeng and the National Energy Council
member Achdiyat Atmawinata.

Minister Jonan furthermore expects Tokyo Gas to collaborate with local
companies for the development of LNG projects in Indonesia.

The gas company president Michiaki Hirose said that he is interested in
working closely with one of Indonesia's major companies.

Mr. Hirose said that the company has been importing gas from Indonesia since
1969.

Tokyo Gas is Japan's largest natural gas company who supplied gas to the
country's major cities, such as Tokyo, Kanagawa, Saitama, Chiba, Ibaraki,
Tochigi, Gunma, Yamanashi and Nagano.

The company plans to conduct LNG Development Study in relation to the
Sulawesi project. LNG development will be divided into several clusters,
including gas for industry, gas for electricity, etc.

The master plan and feasibility study of the LNG project are expected to be
completed by 2018.
