Indonesia's PLN to hold renewables tender in May

Indonesia's PLN to hold renewables tender in May

Next month Indonesian state-owned utility PT PLN will hold a tender for
renewable power capacity, in support of the country's target for a 23%
renewables share by 2025.

The tender will take place in at the beginning or the middle of May, at the
latest, Rida Mulyana from the energy ministry has said, as cited by the
Jakarta Post.

A number of companies intend to join the tender, including Terregra Asia
Energy, which has already registered, the newspaper said. As reported
recently, the latter company's initial public offering (IPO) on the
Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) is to be completed also next month.

Jakarta Post said PLN's power procurement plan for 2017-2026 envisages the
addition of 632 MW of renewable energy this year. Nearly half should be
geothermal power.
