Andalas, Pertamina identify potential gas fields in Indonesia for power
projects

UK-based Andalas Energy and Power and oil company Pertamina have identified
two new potential gas fields for its wellhead independent power projects
(IPPs) in Indonesia.

Andalas is planning to develop an IPP portfolio at the two gas fields which
would have a capacity range of 250-500MW.

Sites identified along with the Indonesian energy giant, Pertamina are said
to be within Andalas' target area of Central Sumatra. According to Andalas,
there is a considerable presence of gas fields having potential for the
development of wellhead IPPs.

The company alongside the sub-surface team of Pertamina will carry out a
comprehensive assessment of each of the gas field's suitability to fire a
future power plant of sufficient size.

Upon completion of the evaluation, Andalas plans to carry out a feasibility
study at each of the new projects. Currently it is having a joint review of
the undeveloped gas fields in possession with Pertamina and also with other
operators.

According to Andalas CEO David Whitby, the company shared its know-how on
the optimal method to monetize marginal gas fields through wellhead IPPs
while Pertamina showcased a sampling of its gas assets inventory.

Whitby added: "The scalability of our gas-to-power offering in partnership
with Pertamina is clear. In addition to the initial project, we have
identified two additional fields within Pertamina's unrivalled inventory of
gas assets.

"All of this has been achieved within eight months of signing our
partnership agreement with Pertamina and we look forward to updating
shareholders as we continue to progress our cooperation with Pertamina."

In late February, AIM traded Indonesian focused energy firm, Andalas
completed a feasible study for its first 60MW wellhead gas-to-power project
in partnership with Pertamina in Jambi, Sumatra. The project was evaluated
to be viable and also expected to play a key role in meeting local demand
for electricity.
