Sinohydro bags 24-MW wind job in Thailand

Chinese firm Sinohydro Corp Ltd said Thursday it has been contracted to
design and build the 24-MW Lam Thakong wind power plant in Thailand's
northeastern province of Nakhon Ratchasima, also known as Khorat.

The company will work on the project under a contract with state-owned
enterprise Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT). Managed by
the Ministry of Energy, EGAT is responsible for the electric power
generation and transmission, and bulk electric energy sales in the country.

The deal, sealed on September 6, covers the engineering, procurement and
construction (EPC) services for the wind farm. Sinohydro will be in charge
of the supply, transportation, insurance, supervision, installation,
testing, commissioning, maintenance and warranty for all civil engineering
and power plant equipment.

Sinohydro is part of Chinese engineering and construction firm PowerChina
(SHA:601669), also known as Power Construction Corp of China. The firm did
not unveil the financial scope of the contract.
