Indonesia's PLN signs MoU with Wartsila to develop power generation

Indonesia's state-owned power company PT Perusahan Listrik Negara (PLN) has
signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Wartsila to cooperate on
developing power generation projects in the country.

Under the terms of the MoU, the two firms have agree to cooperate on the
development of 500MW of power generation solutions and related small scale
LNG storage and regasification infrastructure in Indonesia.

Over the next two-year period, the two parties will install the targeted
power generation as several projects.

Wartsila Energy Solutions President Javier Cavada said: "Wartsila's proven
capability to deliver high quality, efficient, and flexible power plant
solutions on a fast-track basis is perfectly suited to the requirements of
Indonesia.

"With this MoU, Wartsila is also pleased to express its strong commitment
towards the development of Indonesian manufacturing skills and knowledge
transfer as it is the basis for a mutually beneficial and long
relationship."

The MoU also focuses on further development of Indonesian capability in
power projects execution, knowledge transfer and local skills.

In 2015, Indonesia announced its plan to ensure equal availability of
reliable power supply throughout the entire archipelago.

As part of this effort, the government set a target to have 35000MW of
installed power generation capacity by 2019.

Wartsila has been more than 3GW of installed power generation capacity in
the country.

It operates projects including the 200MW dual fuel Pesanggaran plant, 184MW
Arun power plant and the Bangkanai 150MW power plant.
