Siemens scores in Indonesia

Siemens scores in Indonesia

Siemens has secured the contract to build and operate the 60MW Tolo wind
farm in Indonesia.

The German manufacturer will install 20 wind turbines at Jeneponto in South
Sulawesi for developer Equis and state-owned utility PT PLN.

Construction is set to start this year and commissioning is expected in
2018, Equis said.

The Singapore-based company plans to invest more than $500m in other
renewable energy projects in Indonesia over the next two years.

"Indonesia is set for a period of rapid, sustained growth in energy demand,
and the Indonesian government has set sensible targets for renewable energy
to satisfy a large share of this demand," Equis chief executive David
Russell said.
