Indonesia: Oil, Gas Production Exceeds Target, Minister Says

Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry announced that the production and
lifting of oil and natural gas in 2016 reaches 114 percent.

In 2016, the average production of oil reached 831,000 barrel per day, while
the production of natural is equivalent to 1,418 barrels of oil per day.

"The total production of oil and gas is equivalent to 2,249 barrels per day
or 114 percent from the target set in the 2016 revised State Budget. The
target set was equivalent to 1,970 barrels of oil per day," said Energy
Minister Ignasius Jonan in a written statement on Sunday (1/1).

"My appreciation for those who have worked hard," Jonan added.

The production and lifting of oil and gas that exceeded the target, Jonan
said, happened amidst the low global oil price.
