Vietnam: 4 hydropower projects in Nam Tra My has been supplemented into the
planning

In the 5th session, Quang Nam provincial people's council (IX term of
office) has adopted a lot of the important resolutions, specially the
Resolution on adjusting Resolution No 161/2010/NQ-HĐND of the medium and
small hydropower planning in Quang Nam province to supplement 4 hydropower
projects in Nam (Southern) Tra My district.

The Resolution has been adopted on basis of a fact-finding survey which
showed that the 144 ha total land area 4 projects occupy is mainly
productive but primeval forest and cultivated lands, and there is no problem
of resettlement due to no any household must move.

According to the primary studies, the whole water source from these
hydropower projects will not be directly discharged to the downstream but
into the reservoir of Song Tranh 2 hydropower plant (in Bac (Northern) Tra
My district), that why they will not cause flood for lowlands.

4 these hydropower projects having a total capacity of 78.8 MW and an
investment estimation of around 2700 billion VND are as follow in detail:

-Tra linh 1 in Tra Linh and Tra Cang communes has capacity of more than 26
MW, average generation of 80 million kWh/year and occupied land area of 21
ha.

-Takle in Tra Nam commune has capacity of 11.6 MW, average generation of
nearly 35 million kWh/year and occupied land area of 15 ha.

-Nuoc Lah in Tra Van and Tra Don communes has capacity of 11 MW, average
generation of 39 million kWh/year and occupied land area of 52 ha.

-Tra Leng in Tra Don commune has capacity of 30 MW, average generation of
104 million kWh/year and occupied land area of 55 ha.

These hydropower projects, when completed will significantly contribute to
socio-economic development of Quang Nam province.
